Summer is a great time to take a break from school routine. It can also be a time for students to catch up on necessary skills or learn new ones so they’re refreshed and ready for the new school year in fall.
Meemli offers select middle school programs that are easy to join, fun, impactful and stress-free! Students can take them from anywhere as the programs are all online. They get to connect with trained, trusted mentors and teachers and learn with 1-to-1 guidance or in fun, small groups with other students like them. The programs cover core academic skills as well as enrichment and best of all, they’re FREE to any student!

Flexibility
and Ease
Students can use the Meemli learning application from anywhere. All that is required is a computer and a good Internet connection, no downloads needed. And it is free!
Personal
Guidance
Students get personalized guidance and support in the interactive learning environment either 1-on-1 with a trained mentor or in small groups with an experienced teacher.
Safety and
Privacy
Meemli’s online learning application is not publicly searchable and personal data is not collected or sold. Contact information is private and our adult mentors and teachers are background-checked.

The programs are developed so students can build critical skills to support their academic growth along with confidence and interest in future learning and opportunities.
Available Programs
The programs will generally run from early July to early August 2022 – sign up to get more program details!
This program helps students enjoy reading while advancing critical reading skills. Each student will select a grade/age appropriate book from our list and will read specific chapters and discuss it each week with a mentor, using educator-developed guides. The books will be provided if needed.
Grades: 5-8 or equivalent
Delivery: One-on-one student-mentor connection
Sessions: Weekly, 30–45 minutes, flexible
Duration: 4-6 weeks, starting July 5 (training July 1, 10:00 am Pacific)

Each student will work on hands-on, doing science experiments with the materials provided, guided by a teacher online. The goal is to increase interest and knowledge in science while enjoying doing the experiments at home. Each student will receive a science experiment kit shipped to their home.
Grades: 5-8 or equivalent
Delivery: small group classes with a teacher
Sessions: Weekly, 45–60 minutes
Duration: 3 weeks, 9-10 am Pacific, July 11, 18, 25
On: Zoom
Students will learn proven modeling techniques to better understand and solve word problems, particularly those involving fractions, ratios and proportions. Each student will work a high-school student-mentor who is strong in math, familiar with the challenges of word problems and trained to help.
Grades: 5-8 or equivalent
Delivery: One-on-one student-mentor connection
Sessions: Twice weekly, 30-45 minutes
Duration: 3 weeks, 11:00 am Pacific, July 5, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21 (training July 1, 11:00 am Pacific)

This program is for students who know how to use a computer but don’t know much about the details, and they will get a small taste of coding too. They will interact 1-1 with a trained, trusted mentor who will share their experiences to open a window to the world of professional careers.
Grades: 5-8 or equivalent
Delivery: One-on-one student-mentor connection
Sessions: Weekly, 30–45 minutes, flexible
Duration: 4-6 weeks, starting July 5 (training July 1, 10:00 am Pacific)

Strong readers who are interested in reading with purpose will enjoy this program that looks at the need for racial justice through the lens of middle school students. Students will read one of 2 selected middle schools novels and join small group discussions based on the story, guided by a teacher with lived experience.
Grades: 7-8 or equivalent
Delivery: Small group, with a teacher
Sessions: Weekly, 45-60 minutes
Duration: 4 weeks, 4:00 pm Pacific, July 5, 13, 20, 27
